Hung Inevitable in Karnataka: Survey

Update: 2018-04-24 06:39 GMT
Until a month ago, Ruling Congress Government has got a clear upper hand over BJP in Karnataka and gave an impression that CM Siddaramaiah will retain power. As the polling date is nearing, Gap between the two major parties have come down to just few seats.

As per Times Now-VMR Survey, None of the parties in Karnataka will be able to obtain magic figure in the Assembly Polls 2018. Whichever party supported by HD Kumaraswamy-led JD (S) is likely to form the government.

In 224 Member Assembly, Congress is expected to win 91 seats to emerge as the single largest party. While BJP manages to bag 89 seats, JD (S) touches 40-mark.

Survey confirms Siddaramaiah Government recommending Separate Religion status for Lingayats hasn't left any impact on the voters. Coastal Area voters have been favouring BJP after UP CM Yogi Adityanath campaigned here. Majority of the voters in Greater Bengaluru which have 32 seats are backing Siddaramaiah. In the Central Karnataka, BJP's seats will increase from 4 to 22. Though Congress vote share increases, It's seats are likely to get reduced (36.59 to 38.6 percent). BJP's vote share increases drastically (19.89 to 35.03 percent). Even JD (S) vote share increases by 1.14 percent.
