Amid rumours that KCR is planning to hand over the reins of power to his son KTR in Telangana, there are also reports that he would be the super CM of the state. KCR is said to be mulling over the formation of a state advisory council and he would head it. This council will advise and guide the chief minister in taking decisions. In effect, this council would actually rule the state with KTR as its front.
Pundits say this council is more like the National Advisory Council that the Congress had created to make Sonia Gandhi as the de facto PM of the country even while being out of the government. In the present system too, KCR will be the all powerful guide, while son KTR would be the CM. KCR's relative and former MP Vinod and some very close confidants will be the members of the council, say sources.
With this arrangement, KTR would retain his hold on the government and the party, while his plan of succession would be put into action. KTR will have three to four years of grooming under the wings of KCR and then can blossom into his own by 2023, say analysts.
