Rushikeswari who is pursuing B.Arch first year in Acharya Nagarjuna University committed suicide in her hostel room on Tuesday due to alleged ragging by Seniors. The University suspended three 2nd Year Students (Anisha, Jayacharan and Srinivas) within 24 hours after their names figured in the suicide note and FIR registered by the police.
The Victim is a native of Vijayawada and she used to live in Warangal with her father who works as marketing executive in a private firm. Unable to bear the harassment, She hanged herself from the ceiling fan in the hostel room and died on the way to the hospital.
In her suicide note titled as 'My Last Note', Rushikeswari mentioned that her roommate Anisha pressurized her to move closely with seniors Jayacharan and Srinivas. Anisha also forced her to come along with them to watch 'Baahubali' on Sunday. Even before the film ended, Rushikeswari walked out of the theatre and reached her aunt's house. She took the extreme step two days later.
Pedakakni Police filed a case under Section 306 against the accused for allegedly harassing Rushikeswari and abetting the suicide.
