Cash-For-Vote Scandal: Chandrababu Naidu Gets A Sigh Of Relief For A Brief Period
Opposition Telugu Desam Party supremo and ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu got a sigh of relief in the cash-for-vote case, for a brief period.
The sensational Cash-for-vote note that took place in 2015 became the talk of the town yet again, after the top court of the country Supreme Court heard the petition in connection with the case.
Ruling YSRCP leader and MLA Rama Krishna Reddy, who represents the Mangalagiri constituency moved the Supreme Court seeking directives for a Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) into the alleged role of Chandrababu Naidu in the scam.
The bench, which heard the petition said, the next hearing of the petition would be in July, next year. The petition will be accepted for the hearing, once the summer vacations are completed.
Senior counsel Prashant Bhushan, who appeared before the Supreme Court on the behalf of the MLA told the court that even after multiple mentions of Chandrababu Naidu the ACB has not questioned him.
Well, Ramakrishna Reddy has knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court back in January 2018 seeking directives to launch a probe against Chandrababu Naidu in the scam. However, his petition was not listed for hearing.
Tracing back the case, back in 2015, MP REvanth Revanth who was the then TDP MLA reportedly gave an offer to Elvis Stephenson, nominated MLA to cast his vote for TDP MLC nominee. Elvis Stephenson spoke to Chandrababu Naidu over the phone and their phone conversation is said to have leaked.
