Will KCR use farmers issues as launch pads for a national role?

Telangana Chief Minister KCR, it appears, has not abandoned his political ambitions at the national level. The recent meeting of the leaders of the 26 national-level farmers association at the Pragathi Bhavan shows that KCR has a grand plan for the national politics and that he is all set to ender the national politics. Sources close to him claim that he is all set to use the farmers' issue as the rallying point for mobilizing support.

In the Pragathi Bhavan meet, KCR reportedly explained about the steps being taken to strengthen the farm sector in Telangana. He also reportedly called for a united fight to save the interests of the farmers. He has also spoken about the need for a federalist approach to the issues facing the country.  The farmer leaders, who attended the meeting, have expressed solidarity with KCR.

Meanwhile, KCR is planning to undertake a tour of several states in the country. As part of these tours, massive farmers' meets are being planned. KCR is said to be busy in finalizing tours of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Karnataka. He would address the farmers of these respective states, according to the TRS sources.

TRS sources also  say that KCR is planning to set up farmers' offices in all major agricultural hubs in the country. The aim is to coordinate the farmers unions across the country. He is said to have advised the farmers that winning the assemblies and Parliaments is more important if the farmers interests are to be protected. Insiders say KCR s going to use the farmers issues as launch pads for his national forays.
