Tragic Collision in UP: 18 Dead, 19 Injured in Bus-Tanker Crash

Uttar Pradesh witnessed a horrifying road accident on Wednesday morning, as a head-on collision between a double-decker bus and a milk tanker claimed the lives of 18 people and left another 19 injured. The accident occurred on the Lucknow- Agra Expressway near Jojikot village in Unnao district.

Initial investigations suggest that the bus, traveling from Bihar to Delhi, was speeding and attempted to overtake the tanker from the wrong side. The resulting impact was severe, causing both vehicles to overturn. The severity of the crash was compounded by the number of passengers on the bus, with estimates suggesting around 100 people were onboard.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, pulling survivors from the wreckage and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Among the deceased were the drivers of both vehicles, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving. The injured are currently undergoing treatment, with some in critical condition.
