Scientists are saying that the vampire viruses were found in soil samples collected from Missouri and Maryland. Though the scientists are aware of these viruses it is said that the first time the virus was found in soil samples. These viruses are named mobile genetic elements by the researchers of the University.

These are satellite viruses, which need another helper virus co-infecting the same cell to start their replication process. Both viruses can impact the cells in the body. When the viruses affect humans they become helping viruses.

It is said that the researchers found that the Influenza samples found in pigs might become more dangerous when they become new species. When this virus affects humans it should be away from the cells. However, the scientists reportedly found that the additional virus and the main virus are attached.

The scientists said that the viruses were found using the electronic microscope. The study published in The International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) on the 31st of October had all the details.
