UN To Give Positive Response For Bharat Proposal?
Not just the opposition parties, but also the celebrities are waging into the debate and giving their opinions.
For the past few days, a heated debate has been going on about whether India’s name would be changed to Bharat, and there is a process going on in this regard. A few developments are adding fuel to this debate and keeping the flame burning.
Not just the opposition parties, but also the celebrities are waging into the debate and giving their opinions. We are seeing a mixed response on this. Constitutional experts are listing the legal issues the alleged name change would face. The buzz around the issue is so big that even the United Nations official was asked.
As per the mainstream media, a United Nations official was asked how the global body would react if a request comes. It is said that a UN official gave a positive response saying that it considers the name change requests that comes its way.
Deputy Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Farhan Haq reportedly responded to the question and said that the body would consider the name change request. He also cited the example of Turkey which became Turkiye and how the request was accepted.
Looking at the response of the United Nations, it appears that it would not oppose it and just accept it. This can be seen as a piece of good news for the BJP government which seems interested in changing the name.
Once the global body gives a positive response and recognises India as Bharat, then this can be a groundbreaking development in the alleged process. This can also help the government in starting the process in the country. Let us wait and see.
