Times have changed and youngsters are selecting their partners and going for love marriages. In some cases, parents accept the marriage and in some cases, they won't, and might take time. But do you know in a village one should pay taxes for love marriages?

As per the reports, there is a village named Vadakkalur in Tamil Nadu. If anyone does love marriage then a fine would be imposed and the fine is named Kutra Vari. Those who do love marriages should pay Rs 500 at the Panchayat.

The tradition has been followed by generations as per the reports. If anyone does love marriage then tax would be imposed on them. The money should be paid with the Village Panchayat. It is also reported that they would not be allowed to enter the village if the tax is not paid.

Not just that it is said that in some instances they have to go to every house to apologise for what they have done. On top of this, they have to pay the tax to the Panchayat. The old tradition often leads to tense scenes in the village.

Earlier a few complaints were filed with the authorities against this. On the other hand, the elders in the Village are said to be supporting this saying the money collected from the couples would be used to develop the temple and there is nothing wrong with this.

However, people say that the tradition cannot be supported and following it might send the wrong message to the society.
