All eyes are on June 4 to see the results. We are only a few hours away from the intense counting exercise. Ahead of the big moment, the Postal ballots are getting all the attention with the legal fight waged by the ruling YCP. The party knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court on the issue.

The YCP faced a big jolt on the postal ballot row as the Supreme Court dismissed the plea. The ruling party knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court on the ECI orders. However, the Apex Court did not entertain the petition and squashed it.

What the Election Commission said on the criteria of the Postal ballots did not go well with the ruling YCP. It moved the High Court against this. However, the party did not get the relief which made it move the Apex Court. But the party had to face another jolt.

In its guidelines, the Election Commissioner said that the attesting officer’s signature is enough on Form 13A, and if there is a signature then it can be seen as valid even though there is no seal or designation of the officer mentioned. Having said that, the concerned officers are directed on this.

Postal ballot votes maintain a key significance this time due to massive numbers. The YCP challenged this in the High Court and the Court said it cannot interfere in this. With this, YCP moved the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court turned down the petition filed by the YCP and this can be seen as a big blow to it. On the other hand, TDP’s Velagapudi Ramakrishna filed a caveat on the issue, saying that his arguments should be heard before giving any orders.
