'AP Govt should have passed new G.O before Bheemla Nayak'

Update: 2022-03-08 13:56 GMT
The government of Andhra Pradesh put an end to the long wait as it passed the much anticipated G.O 35 the other day.

With the new G.O passed by the AP government coming to effect immediately, single screens can sell the tickets at Rs 125, and Rs 150 is the maximum price for multiplexes in municipal corporations.

GST can be added. The minimum and maximum price in rural areas is also increased. Rs 250 has been fixed for recliner seats in multiplexes across the state. These prices will be coming to effect immediately.

Now, the Tollywood film producers council has opened about the newly passed G.O and NV Prasad, who is an integral part of the council made a few interesting comments related to the G.O and its timing.

"The government of Andhra Pradesh should have passed the new G.O prior to Bheemla Nayak's release. The government's unreasonable restrictions with the old G.O did a lot of damage to the dsitribuition industry.

In fact, the old G.O caused more damage than Covid to the film production and distribution in dustry in Andhra Pradesh." NV Prasad, who is currently producing Chiranjeevi's Godfather and also partnering for RC16 commented.

The council then went on to thank the state government for listening to the pleas of the film industry and solving the ticket price issue. The producers council seemed pleased with the Jagan-led government's newly passed G.O and they vowed to meet with YS Jagan soon and facilitate him.

Meanwhile, the newly passed G.O is expected to provide some sort of respite to Radhe Shyam and RRR which are Tollywood's immediate next pan-India biggies.

Whether or not this G.O will practically help the film indsutry is a question that will be answered in the due course. There can be no comment on the same till we analyze the statistics of forthcoming new releases.
