A North Indian heroine who worked in a couple of Telugu films has accused Bollywood top filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of rape and sexual misconduct. She even brought Richa Chadha's name into it which angered the 'Fukrey' actress. Richa decided to take the legal route and she filed a defamation lawsuit of 1.1 crores on 6th October.

The actress brought up Richa's name during a television interview. The actress took back her words and apologized to Richa as per her lawyer. He said, “She (the actor) said it innocently. She is a big follower of the plaintiff (Chadha) and respects her. She is ready to withdraw the statement and tender apology. She regrets whatever she said and her intention was never to defame any woman."

Richa is reportedly happy with the outcome as her legal team released a statement which states, "The Bombay High Court has accepted the consent terms as an undertaking...giving Richa Chadha an unconditional apology and withdrawal of all statements defamatory posts."

During a heated conversation with Anurag Kashyap on TV debate, the actress vented, "You have given chance to Richa Chadha, Mahie Gill, Huma Qureshi... they are so nominal looking girls. Generally, directors don't give them chance but you have done a great job. But I am not mentally prepared for this right now." She also added that Kashyap told her that Richa is "just a call away."

As Richa Chadha found these comments hurtful and humiliating, she took legal action.
