The makers of Ramayana have officially started the film's global journey with a grand event called Pratham Sankalp in New Delhi. The special event was held before the worldwide trailer launch, which is scheduled for July 24, 2026.

The team said the event marks the beginning of taking one of India's greatest cultural stories to audiences across the world. In Indian tradition, "Sankalp" means making a sacred promise before starting an important journey. Through this event, the makers promised to present Ramayana with honesty, respect, and world-class filmmaking.

New Delhi was chosen as the launch venue because it represents the heart of India. The event celebrated the timeless values of Ramayana, which has inspired generations through its teachings, traditions, and culture.

Selected guests at the event were given an exclusive preview of the official trailer before its global release. The makers also introduced the Ramayana Schools Program, which reached more than 500 schools across India. Thousands of students took part in creative activities to learn about the values of the epic. Some of the winning students were invited as special guests to the Delhi event.

The evening became even more memorable as the main cast appeared together on one stage for the first time. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and several actors attended the celebration.

Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita. Yash is both a co-producer and will play Ravana. Sunny Deol will appear as Hanuman, Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, Shobana as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Ajinkya Deo as Vishwamitra, and Kunal Kapoor as Indra.

Producer Namit Malhotra said Ramayana is not just an epic but a way of life that teaches values and traditions. He believes India's greatest stories deserve to be told on the world's biggest stage.

Director Nitesh Tiwari said the story already belongs to the world because of its universal values. He added that the team's responsibility is to present it with authenticity, honesty, and respect.

Presented by Prime Focus Studios in partnership with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, the film features music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. Ramayana: Part 1 is set for a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026, while the official trailer will arrive globally on July 24, 2026.
