Shahida (W/o Fake Stamp Paper Case prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi) moved the Court seeking directions to the government to take possession of nine immovable properties owned by her Husband in Karnataka and use them for Nation's welfare.
Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Court was approached by Telgi's Family. Interestingly, Shahida informed the court that using the benami assets for the sake of the Nation was the last wish of her husband. On behalf of her, Advocate Milind D Pawar filed an affidavit in the court.
Even Telgi's Daughter and Son-in-Law extended support to the decision taken by Shahida. Telgi owned agricultural land and shopping complexes in Belagavi and Vijayapura.
Abdul Karim Telgi was convicted on January 17th, 2006 in Stamp Scam case and he was sentenced to 30 years of rigorous imprisonment. In an another case, He was awarded 13 years of jail term on June 28th, 2017. Telgi was lodged in Parappana Agrahara Prison ever since then. On October 23rd this year, He died in the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru.
