Fishes from Andhra Pradesh used to have great demand in the North-Eastern States such as Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Manipur. AP kept exporting fishes to these states in the past two decades.
Much to the shock of Andhrites, North-Eastern States have now banned Fish Imports citing traces of toxic chemical (Formalin) found in the lab tests. This move left the farmers on AP, particularly those in Godavari Districts, in distress.
Political angle is being suspected over the ban of fish imports by North-Eastern States which were mostly ruled by BJP & its allies. Possibility of strained relations between TDP and BJP leading to this situation can't be ruled out completely.
It's now the responsibility of TDP Government to protect the Farmers dependent on fish exports. Why should people pay the price for the blunders committed by Rulers?
